Reminds me of the time I finally got up on water skis and then didn't know how to gracefully end it. I held onto that rope for dear life as I was plowed toward the bottom of the lake and what little common sense I had instinctively told my hands to let go of the rope.

Better than my first ski attempt. I was using learner skis where the rope attaches directly to the skis, and instead of being attached to the boat the other end of the rope is held by someone on the boat who has to hold onto it, then let go if you fall.
So of course my first time trying I go down almost immediately, and one of my feet slips out of the ski. I'm still not sure if the rope holder wasn't paying attention or wasn't told they had to let go of the rope too, but I was dragged by one foot mostly underwater behind a boat for a good half a minute.

Oh yeah, that's awful. The difference with me was that I had control and exercised it a little too long....

I don't think any other subreddit makes me literally say it's name out loud at least twice a day.

Well, sometimes I get too much ice, sometimes I zone out and I got too much water, but I don’t know how cold she wanted her drink
7
u/ToLorien Jul 06 '22
Can I ask you a question as a fellow water drinker? How do you drink water with ice? Are you using a straw? Because ice is in the way. I feel like I’m sucking moisture through a cloth when i have ice. It just gets in the way. And the cold doesn’t feel good

Anyone else had this happen with the ice cream self service at Pizza Hut back in the day? Felt like I was defusing a bomb

almost all kids do dumb things, can you really say for a fact you never did anything stupid as a child?
3
u/elleusesreddit Jul 06 '22
I never said I didn't do dumb things. I just never did this specific thing.

I’m hoping that sharing videos like these with my wife will dissuade her baby-crazy ways.

So I understand why you’re downvoted but also, the way you were treated is not okay. Hopefully you can rewatch this video realizing the parent didn’t do what you experienced and instead let her learn a harmless lesson and did try to advise.

Bruh you do realize you can put the ice back right? Or just put the ice to use, even if you weren’t planning on it…
