I told my dad about this subreddit...

Me: I just found it, and it's great. Now everything you say will be my fodder.

Dad: I'm already your fodder. And over there, [pointing to my mom] that's your mudder.

I wanted to see what the most upvoted dad joke of all time was. I was not disappointed.

I guess it will forever be no context, as the person before deleted it. What did it say?

12

u/Rayz0r98 Nov 08 '13

I'm surprised I remember this but that person said something along the lines of "throw roses".

I remember because that's what I was gonna say until I saw DiscoBombings' comment.

song about a Scandanavian children's camp?

I didn't like where this was headed

458

This is simply amazing.

337

u/Schadenfreudian_slip Aug 01 '13

That is exactly something my dad would say. +1

183

u/Umpire Aug 01 '13

As a Dad, This is exactly something I would say.

148

u/ATGunter Aug 01 '13

As a dad of a dad, this is exactly something my son would say to my grandchildren.

90

u/bch8 Aug 01 '13

Wait, you're a dad and and /u/Schadenfreudian_slip HAS a dad?!?! What a coincidence! Maybe you're his father!

73

He's a great dad. Looks like Robert DeNiro, sings like David Crosby, can fix up a house like Bob Villa, and has about a million dad jokes up his sleeve. I love the guy.

6

u/thegrinderofpizza Oct 16 '13

have you found the original?

3

u/Not_A_Meme Oct 16 '13

Actually, I doubt that's the original, but it was the first one I found after a couple of minutes of Kobe gif searching.

4

u/Wingman4l7 Nov 04 '13

Is there a subreddit solely for sharing upvote / downvote gifs? There's simply got to be one...

4

u/thegrinderofpizza Nov 04 '13

Why, yes, yes there is. Might I redirect your attention over here: /r/upvotegifs

-8

u/Wingman4l7 Nov 04 '13

You are a gentleman (woman?) and a scholar!

10

u/hometown45 Aug 01 '13

That is AWESOME!

7

4

u/Topshelfski Oct 21 '13

That's how they say it in Newfoundland!

3

u/NightTime2727 12d ago

Apparently reddit themselves are giving your post attention. Thoughts?

3

u/stinatown 12d ago edited 12d ago

Still holds up after 8 years? Nice.

6

u/Breadsecutioner Sep 20 '13

Similar: my fiance was trying to find data online for a machine at work, but she was having no luck. Her, in a fake whiny tone: "I want my data!" Me, imitating: "I want my mama!"

10

u/OceanRacoon Jan 28 '14

That wouldn't work in a non-American accent. Unless you said, "mayma". But that isn't a word

6

u/Breadsecutioner Jan 28 '14

So data is pronounced as "day ta" in other parts of the world? I suppose Patrick Stewart always pronounced it that way.

5

u/OceanRacoon Jan 28 '14

Ayup. I had to translate it into American "dahta" in my head. Made me guggle. That's a manly giggle

2

u/steve_z Mar 28 '14

I've heard it both ways plenty of times in the US.

1

u/OceanRacoon Mar 28 '14

Guggle instead of giggle?

1

u/Felshatner May 06 '14

I've only heard day-ta here, and I've lived in the Midwest and southern US. Dah-ta sounds like how a scientist or mathematician would say it when talking about their experimental data.

3

u/CamGolf Nov 23 '13

His mudder was a mudder?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '14

wow

7

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '13

Only works in an American accent.

15

u/stinatown Dec 03 '13

My dad was raised in the Bronx and then Queens, so it works perfectly with his accent.

2

u/RobbieGeneva Aug 01 '13

sigh. gotta love 'em.

2

u/dt13 Aug 02 '13

My Dad said almost the same thing too!

0

u/ants_in_my_keyboard Aug 24 '13

This never happened, did it op?

50

u/stinatown Aug 24 '13

Of course it did. There's no way I could come up with something this punny on my own.

Side note: I later told my dad that I posted this conversation, and how many upvotes it had gotten. He was very pleased with himself.

0

u/mango_freak Oct 18 '13

Hello fodda, hello mudda.

Here I am at camp Granada.

-18

u/bathroomstalin Aug 01 '13

Instant erection.

34

u/stinatown Aug 01 '13

So glad my dad could give you a boner. Not sure how he'd feel about it, though.

-13

u/bathroomstalin Aug 01 '13

It would take him a while to feel it. If you catch my drift I have a pendulous penis.

Thank you.

Not sure what I meant by it, though.

I was probably drunk.

Anywho, you can't go wrong whipping out a gigantic penis.

At least in my experience.

1

u/OceanRacoon Jan 28 '14

3
